Adelaide United defender Jenna McCormick has been awarded the Lady Reds Player of the Year.

McCormick, a former midfielder who moved into the back line, was a standout performer for the team throughout the season and made a big contribution to Adelaide's improved defence.

The Reds conceded 15 goals in the W-League regular season finishing with the fourth best defensive record; a record better than Brisbane Roar and only one behind Sydney FC.

An incredible turn around from Season Five where they shipped 40 goals in just 12 matches.
