Australia defeated India with one goal last night to secure a spot in the gold medal match and will have the chance to defend their gold medal from Glasgow.

New Zealand made the final after a thrilling penalty shootout against England.

Goalkeeper Rachael Lynch is looking forward to facing New Zealand having played them a number of times in the past year.

"We match up really well against the Kiwis," she said.

"The style that we play and the style that they play are similar.

"If we execute our game plan we believe that's the way we can win," Lynch said.

The Hockeyroos previously met New Zealand in the Pool matches where they played out a 0-0 draw and Grace Stewart is expecting a similar battle.

"It will be a very tough and physical match, very even and hard fought to the very end," she said.

"We will just look to push through at the last few minutes and hopefully snatch the win."

All the action from the gold medal match begins tomorrow at 12:45pm.
