Australia had already defeated the Black Sticks 4-1 in their first game.
Queenslander Savannah Fitzpatrick scored the opening goal of the match just before quarter time.
While the second quarter was scoreless, it got interesting when Kiwi Lily Brazel was green carded.
Rosie Malone, who had been elevated to the squad, got her second international goal and second of the tournament before Stephanie Kershaw sealed the win in the fourth quarter.
The Hockeyroos still have one game left before the final and will take on Japan tomorrow afternoon.
