The Perth Glory women’s team have released their squad for Season Three of the Westfield W-League.

The squad includes several international signings and big departures from the western side.

The Glory have recruited a mix of youth and experience in Season Three. Danish International goalkeeper Tine Cederkvist will be the custodian while Swedish international midfielder Alexandra Nilsson as well as a host of local stars including fiery striker Lara Filocamo and defenders Stacey Learmont and Emily Dunn.

"I’m very happy with the squad in terms of quality and depth, the international signings are a huge boost for us,” said Head Coach John Gibson.

“We've also given opportunities to local players who have impressed over the last year."

However this season there will be a couple of notable local names missing from the purple with Westfield Matildas striker Lisa De Vanna looking set to join Melbourne Victory with fellow departure and Young Matilda Ella Mastrantonio.

Gibson was clear that the enigmatic superstar did not fit into his plans for Season Three. "Unfortunately we've had to make some hard decisions on the squad for upcoming season and Lisa didn't fit into the plans of the future direction of the team over the next few years.”

Other players to look out for include the Matildas' vice captain Collette McCallum and in form national team strikers Katie Gill and Sam Kerr. Centre-back Tanya Oxtoby will again lead the side with the combination of exciting youth and maturity ensuring Perth will be pushing the top sides in a bid for their first ever play-off finish.

The Glory have knocked on the door of the finals for the first two seasons and will be looking to make their finals debut in the Westfield W-League 2010/11 season.

"We've have seen some good improvements with the group in the last 12 months and Season 3 will be very intense and standard of the competition will be very high," Said Gibson.

“Our goal will be to improve on last year and push for finals.”
