Geelong young gun Nina Morrison has been dealt a devastating injury blow.
Earlier today that club confirmed that their no.1 Draft pick had ruptured to her right ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
Morrison suffered the injury during a training session at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night.
The 18-year-old has just begun her AFLW career last Saturday night where she recorded 22 disposals, eight tackles and kicked the match-winning behind in the final minutes.
The performance saw Morrison nominated for a rising star.
“It’s obviously an extremely disappointing situation for Nina and the club," coach Paul Hood said.
"Nina is a resilient young woman and will tackle her recovery from this injury as she does everything, with a determination and the precision to ensure she is back at 100% for next season."
The club is still deciding the next course of action regarding surgery over the coming days.
