Socceroos and A-League broadcaster Fox Sports will air the Matildas 2014 Asian Cup campaign in Vietnam later this month.

Fox Sports obtained the rights courtesy of the Asian Football Confederation bundling the broadcast rights for the 2014 Women's Asian Cup and the 2015 Men's Asian Cup.

At this stage Fox Sports will broadcast the group stages with A-League commentator Brenton Speed to call ball-by-ball, a source told The Women's Game.

Pre and post-match studio coverage is still to be agreed upon but Fox is placed well to provide insight into the tournament with Australian international Ellyse Perry part of their stable.

This is set to be the first time the Matildas will be shown on the pay tv channel with ABC TV, who were once again interested showcasing the tournament, the long-time home of the W-League and Matildas. Asian Cup coverage would follow on from Fox Sports' airing of two W-League games for the first time in the 2013/14 W-League season.

The defending champions, the Matildas will face world champions Japan, host nation Vietnam and Jordan in Group A of the tournament, which doubles as a world cup qualifier.

Matildas interim head coach Alen Stajcic is set to announce the 23 player squad tomorrow morning at 9.45am.
