Fox, who will be going for her first gold medal at Tokyo in 2022, joked yesterday about winning the double, the current K1 World Champion continued her impressive European season.

"I guess I was just very process driven and I knew I had to make the final before I could think of the double," Fox told ICF media.

"But when I got into that final I had a solid run, I just wanted to charge in and attack it, and fix the errors from the first run.

"I'm very pleased and surprised with that time at the finish," she said.

Fox, who had been the fastest in her heat and in the semi-final, went even faster in the final finishing with a 106.34.

At the 2017 Canoe Slalom World Cup, the first race saw Fox left empty-handed as she finished 10th in the K1 and only make the semifinals of the C1.

Younger sister Noemie Fox also made the final of the C1 and finished in seventh.

Next up is race two in Krakow, Poland next weekend where Jess and Rosalyn Lawrence will compete against each other in the C1, K1 and Extreme Kayak with Noemie competing in the C1.
