Melbourne Victory's Emma Checker and Sydney FC's Amy Harrison have been added to the Matildas’ Asian Cup squad.

The duo were called up by interim Head Coach Alen Stajcic following a last minute increase of Asian Cup squad sizes from 23 to 25.

The defenders, who have not travelled to Vietnam with the main squad today, will be on stand-by and only travel to Ho Chi Minh City if required.

18 year old Checker, who was part of the Victory championship winning side, has made two appearances for the Matildas while Harrison is yet to make her senior debut.

The Matildas commence their title defence against world champions Japan at Thong Nhat Stadium on Wednesday 14 May 2014 (Kick-Off 8.15pm local time, 11.15pm AEST).
