Formation: 4-2-3-1 (a derivative of the 4-3-3)
Goalkeeper
Casey Dumont (Brisbane Roar): Single-handedly saved Brisbane Roar in multiple games.
Defenders
Stephanie Catley (Melbourne Victory) : An attacking fullback with speed, skills, vision and the drive to make it big in women’s football.
Thea Slatyer (Sydney FC) : A perfect positional sense combined with strong tackling ability makes Slatyer a force to be reckoned with.
Ellie Brush (Canberra United) : Brush is a rarity; a central defender who is a pleasure to watch. She form’s the most impregnable defence in the Westfield W-League.
Clare Polkinghorne (Brisbane Roar)
Strong technically and tactically – Polkinghorne is one of the most talented and consistent footballers in Australia.
Midfielders
Sally Shipard (Canberra United) : Shipard has continued to be the standard for which every Australian central midfielder aspires to be.
Kendall Fletcher (Melbourne Victory) : Oozes class and has the ability to lift her teammates with just a single run. With her all-round game, Fletcher can fit perfectly into any club.
Katrina Gorry (Melbourne Victory) : Gorry stole the limelight with a season of consistent fluid performances. Hard to imagine she is only 19.
Strikers
Emily Gielnik (Brisbane Roar) : Has the best minutes-to-goals ratio in the entire league. A strong physical presence combined with deceiving pace makes her a handful for opposition defences.
Michelle Heyman (Canberra United) : This selection speaks for itself. Under coach Jitka Klimkova Heyman has become the complete centre forward for Canberra United.
Jodie Taylor (Melbourne Victory) : Was always a threat with her pace and crafty runs and a captain that led from the front.
COACH: Jitka Klimkova
Melbourne Victory’s Vicki Linton turned a side of young ‘no-names’ into the most dangerous team of the competition but it is impossible to overlook Klimkova. She turned Canberra’s traditionally under-achieving attacking into one of the highest scoring in the league to lead them to United’s first ever title, claiming the double in an undefeated season – a Westfield W-League season first!
