Dual athlete Ellie Brush has decided she won't be playing in the upcoming W-League season.
Brush has been part of the W-League since the inaugural season where she featured for Canberra United before making the switch to the Western Sydney Wanderers ahead of the 2017 season.
She became a dual-code star when she debuted for Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2017 and joined the likes of Jenna McCormick, who also juggled football and Aussie Rules.
After playing W-League and AFLW side by side for the last two seasons, the 30-year-old made the decision to focus on just a single sport.
Brush made the announcement on Instagram:
"...as it is becoming increasingly difficult to pursue both as they increase in professionalism- a fantastic thing for sport in this country- I've decided to make the difficult call to step away from W-League for the 2018/19 season and focus on AFLW with GWS Giants," she wrote.
Last season, Brush would play for the Giants one day then back up the following day with the Wanderers which could've happened this upcoming season with the 2019 AFLW season set to begin on the first weekend of February which overlaps with the end of the regular round of W-League.
