Ash Barty is just one game away from a second US Open women's doubles final appearance after her and CoCo Vandeweghe won in straight sets.
Vandeweghe, who is the lone American left on the women’s doubles side, advanced with partner Ashleigh Barty, with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Dalila Jakupovic and Irina Khromacheva.
The steamy conditions returned to Flushing Medows and the pressure was mounted on the No.13 seeds as they saved four of five break points.

This isn't unfamiliar territory for Barty after being a runner-up in 2013 alongside Casey Dellacqua at the Grand Slam.
The Aussie pair faced Czech duo Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká and before, Dellacqua's retirement earlier this year, the Aussies combined to make the final of the French Open but lost in straight sets.
For Vandeweghe, it is her third US Open semi-final in four years.
The American and Aussie duo, who combined for a title in Miami in March, are set to face either No. 1 seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova or No. 7 seeds Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs, who play tomorrow morning AEST.
Sam Stosur will also play alongside doubles partner Zhang Shuai for a spot in the semi-finals.
