The matches have been coming thick and fast for the Australians in Europe, Asia and the United States.
The matches have been coming thick and fast for the Australians in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Here is a quick catch up.
UNITED STATES
The Aussies have been busy making headlines in the NWSL this season, let’s catch up on all the action from the past three weeks of league play.
Through the first part of NWSL season, Sam Kerr has arguably been the most impressive player in the league and these past few weeks were no different. Kerr was able rack up five goals over the past three games for Sky Blue FC. Her most stunning goal came against the Orlando Pride when Kerr acrobatically redirected a cross into the goal by way of a bicycle kick.

Three of Kerr’s other goals all came in the same game over the span of just 12 minutes. Not only did one of the goals give her the goal of the week honors, Kerr now holds the all time scoring record in the NWSL with 32 career goals.

Steph Catley and Alanna Kennedy have had impressive showings for the Orlando Pride this season. Both are staples in the Pride lineup and have played every minute of every game for the team so far. Two weeks ago, Catley was able to cross in a well hit ball that found her teammate for the game winning goal against Sky Blue FC.

Earlier this month the Orlando Pride announced that after playing just two games for the Pride all season, Laura Alleway was released from the team.
Hayley Raso has been key for Portland starting in ten of their twelve games. She has been instrumental in the Thorns offense this season creating opportunities for the team. But it wasn’t until the Thorns game against FC Kansas City that Raso was able to score her first career goal in the NWSL and help the Thorns win the game

Raso’s newest teammate has been fellow Aussie, Ashleigh Sykes. She has only been with the team since June, but Sykes has two starts to her name and appeared in five games.
The Houston Dash have struggled all season to gain momentum and have had a changing starting lineup. Lydia Williams does have eight starts for the team in goal, but she hasn’t seen action in a game since before the FIFA break in June.
EUROPE
Canberra United's Jenna McCormick has found a new home in the offseason. The Aussie, who played in Iceland last season for Stjarnan and won the Úrvalsdeild League finds herself once again in Europe, but this time she’s playing for Medkila which plays in Norway’s top tier.
McCormick will look to join the team in August for the second half of the season. She will try to help the team turn things around since they sit in last place of the Toppserian League.

McCormick will plenty of Aussie company in the Toppserien when it resumes with several Aussies putting in star turns.
At the top of that list is Tameka Butt. Butt has been out of favour in the Matildas squad, missing out on selection for the Algarve Cup but in Norway she has been in great form.
The attacking midfielder has scored 9 goals this season, currently in third place in the Golden Boot race and leading her team Klepp to fourth on the table ahead of the EURO 2017 break.

Also up there in the Golden Boot race is Butt's Brisbane Roar teammate Emily Gielnik who has 6 goals. After a flying start, Gielnik, Matildas teammate Chloe Logarzo, Gema Simon and their team Avaldsnes have stalled their progression this season. After leading the Toppserien for most of the first half, Avaldsnes head into the break in second place, 2 points behind new leaders LSK.

Aivi Luik and Teigen Allen's Vålerenga will also have some work to do after the break with their side entering the break in 8th place on 14 points. While they are not in any relegation trouble, they will be looking for some quick points when the league returns to make their breathe a bit easier.
ASIA
In South Korea, Rachael Quigley's Hwacheon KSPO has had a sharp drop in form after a promising start to the season. Hwacheon has struggled in the last month claiming only one point in their last 5 matches and 4 straight losses to leave them in 6th place.
It is better news for Emma Checker's Incheon Red Angels who lead the WK League but Checker is yet to play a part with the defender still recovering from her ankle injury.

Meanwhile across in Japan Caitlin Foord and Katrina Gorry's Vegalta Sendai are still on break with the Nadeshiko League not due to return until mid August.
