To open up the NWSL weekend the Boston Breakers faced the Washington Spirit. The game ended in a 1-1 tie that saw Kyah Simon enter the game for the Breakers in the in the 67th minute.

The only game of the week where Aussies faced each other saw Alanna Kennedy of Western New York Flash host Steph Catley and Laura Alleway of the Orlando Pride. The Flash continued their winning ways as they beat the Pride 1-0 and the Flash are now sitting in second place in the NWSL. All three played the full match for their respective clubs.

Sky Blue FC faced off against FC Kansas City and saw the equal contest end in a 1-1 tie. Other than earning a point, Sky Blue’s biggest moment came in the 75th minute when Sam Kerr entered the game for the first time all season as she was recovering from her ankle surgery. Kerr seemed to not miss a beat as she created a few offensive chances and even had a shot attempt in the game.

The 1-1 score theme of the week continued when the Portland Thorns travelled to the Chicago Red Stars. Hayley Raso was a late sub for the Thorns when she entered the game in the 90th minute to help preserve the tie and keep the team undefeated on the season.
The final game of the weekend in the NWSL had the Houston Dash facing off against the Seattle Reign. Ellie Brush reentered the starting lineup for the Dash and Lydia Williams played an incredible game between the posts for Houston. However, it was not enough as the Houston Dash fell 1-0 to the Seattle Reign.

Jenna McCormick of the UMF Stjarnan took on FH Hafnarfjörður in the Women’s Cup this week. Stjarnan was able to beat Hafnarfjörður handily with a 3-0 win.
