Today, May 17, we celebrate the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia, also known as IDAHOBIT.
The IDAHOBIT was created to raise awareness and highlight the continued discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people.
This day is especially important to celebrate this year, as the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated financial crisis has had a disproportionately negative impact on the LGBTQI community.
The Australian sport community has come out to celebrate this day and continue to promote the human rights of LGBTQI people.Β
