Is Matildas Assistant Coach Spencer Prior set to leave the Matildas senior team?
Well that appears to be the case from tweets sent out this morning and, from the tone of this and other tweets, the separation may not be voluntary.
The former Manchester City and Cardiff City defender, who is also the Young Matildas coach, was appointed as senior team assistant coach in January 2011 alongside Tom Sermanni and helped the Matildas win a quarter final berth in the 2011 World Cup.
There has been no formal word from the FFA or Prior himself but With over 500 senior football matches under his belt and two years in the national team set up, his loss would be a blow not long after the departure of long time coach Sermanni.
It also begs the questions, who would replace him and will he stay in the women's football system?
As to who would replace him, the same questions will be asked; local or internationa? With Head Coach experience or without?
Considering the relatively quick appointment of Hesterine de Reus, it would be unsurprising if there was a quick appointment.
As to whether Prior remains in the system, that, like a formal announcement, remains to be seen.
