Two time World Cup winner and current German captain Nadine Angerer is set to line up between the sticks for two time W-League champions Brisbane Roar in the upcoming 2013/14 season of the W-League.
Angerer, who is currently captaining Germany in the UEFA Women's Championship, announced on Twitter that she would be playing a season in Australia before continuing on to the US National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

"Hello everyone, from September I will play for one season in Australia. For which club I will announce next week"
Angerer will become the second German and World Cup winner to suit up for a W-League team with Ariane Hingst playing two seasons with the Newcastle Jets and Canberra United. Â Meanwhile Canberra CEO Heather Reid confirmed on the Far Post Football radio show that Ariane Hingst would not be returning for another season in the W-League.
With German players historically reluctant to play outside of the Frauen Bundesliga, enticing Angerer is another boon for the W-League as it grows in stature. The summer 3 month season (and the European winter) has seen high quality imports come into the league early in their careers with many going on to represent their national teams.
On 14 July the German Football Federation announced that Angerer would be going 2012/13 Premiers Brisbane Roar.
"After many successful years in the Bundesliga and in Sweden I want to tackle a new challenge in Brisbane," said Angerer.
"I've decided to switch because I even want to get to know a whole new continent, a new league, a new country and I am excited that I can wear the Brisbane jersey from the end of September.. I want to help the team to win the championship."
