After coming out of challenging semi final matches, the two most experienced sides in the W-League will meet in the Grand Final.
With past contests between Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar being so close, TheWomensGame has asked a cross-section of people involved in season two of the Westfield W-League which team they believe will prevail this Saturday. We also want to know who YOU think will come out on top so post your comments.
"The two favourite teams at the outset of the league have reached the final and there's always great rivalry between both sets of players. As both teams contain many Matlildas, bragging rights at the next National Team Camp are up for grabs! As National Coach it would be dangerous for me to make an outright prediction and put my already questionable reputation on the line! On current form I would have to say Sydney would be going into the match as favourities. Finals matches are usually decided by the performances of 'big' players and in the past couple of weeks those players in Sydney's line up have excelled. However it's a funny old game and both sides contain match winners and big game players. On the day I'll be happy watching the match from the neutrality and stress free environment of the FFA Box." - Tom Sermanni, Australian National Coach
"Sydney to win. They have been the benchmark this year and they have been the biggest improvers from last year" - Robbie Hooker, Australian U16s National Coach
"I think Sydney FC in extra time" - Steve Robilliard, ABC W-League Commentator
"Sydney FC in a tight contest" - Cheryl Salisbury, ABC W-League Commentator and former captain of the Matildas
"Sydney FC. While the Roar have the best defence Sydney have the speed, motivation and some special players." - Amy Taylor, ABC W-League Commentator and former Matilda
"I'm going to predict a Sydney FC win. Over 300 games worth of international experience among the key players in midfield and up front will see another confident and controlling performance on this big occasion." - Cam Wheeler, Photographer and TheWomensGame supplier of photos (www.camwheeler.com)
"Prediction: Brisbane Roar. Sydney FC is in fine form, but the Roar have the edge when it comes to experience in must-win, high-pressure situations after their efforts in last season's W-League finals series." - Rob Forsaith, Sportal
"My tip, Sydney. Sydney FC hasn't lost since October 5 and will be intent on retribution after the Roar knocked them out of last season's finals series." - Marcus Wilson, Sportal's Adelaide Reporter
"Sydney to win. The trio of Walsh, Khamis and Garriock is the most lethal of its kind in the league while Kyah Simon down the right side will offer plenty of attacking thrust from the back. Roar will only be able to contain the sky blues for so long in front of a vocal home crowd. However, with some issues at the back for Sydney (Clifford suspended, O'Neill flu) a more expansive Roar may prove a threat if they come out with an attacking game-plan, get the goal and sit back and contain. Failing that, Sydney, with almost 20 games together in the last two months (10 W-League; 10 friendlies) are now a well-oiled machine; confident, united and unstoppable right now. It should be a cracker. Garriock's girls 1-0 or 2-0." - Aidan Ormond, Sportal and FourFourTwo
" I think Sydney FC. Defensively I think the teams are equal, but Sydney are stronger in attack." - Natalie, Football Geek
"Tough decision. Most likely Sydney. I think they have great cohesion as a team and the momentum in the lead up will carry through to claim the title." - Dylan, CCMarinersFC
" Sydney! Showed awesome form in the semi. Well controlled passing game. Very smart football. They're on fire!" - Danielle Warby, Sporting Sheilas
"I think Sydney will win 2:1. And that is because I want them to!" - Alex, SFC News (http://twitter.com/SFCNews)
