The best of Australia's young female talent will be on show tomorrow at Metricon Stadium for the AFLW Under-18 Championships.
They will be looking to impress the AFLW recruiters which this year includes expansion clubs North Melbourne and the Geelong Cats.
“With two expansion clubs entering the AFLW in 2019 and another four clubs joining in 2020, recruiters are seeking young talented footballers to join their lists,” AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said.
“The Championships are an important part of our talent program and are a stepping stone to the game at the elite level.
“I’m looking forward to watching the talent on show and encourage all footy fans to come along to matches or tune into the live stream throughout the week,” she said.
Six teams will be competing; Western Australia, Central Allies, Vic Metro, Vic Country, Eastern Allies and Queensland. Central Allies includes players from the Northern Territory and South Australia while the Eastern Allies represent Tasmania and NSW/ACT.
