Ross Aloisi makes his first big signing in Melissa Barbieri | TWG
After a season out of the W-League, Melissa Barbieri returns for 2013/14 edition as Adelaide United's goalkeeper.
33 year old Barbieri is new coach Ross Aloisi's first big signing as he looks to build a competitive squad for Season Six.
Set to relocate to Adelaide, Barbieri is excited about another challenge.
An experienced campaigner, Barbieri has played four seasons in the W-League with the Melbourne Victory and the Newcastle Jets and was named the Goalkeeper of the Year in the inaugural season.
FFSA CEO Michael Carter is pleased with the first big signing for the Lady Reds.
“Melissa will be a major asset to the team as a player and as a leader for the girls. Her experience combined with Ross’ will greatly benefit the squad.”
Adelaide United will be looking to build on last season's results when the W-League kicks off on Saturday November 9.
