The question of whether the lack of a crowd would result in lower intensity games was answered today by a physical contest between Freo and the Bulldogs. The effort that both teams brought saw the game break the record for the highest aggregate score in an AFLW game, finally settling at 66-51.
Ebony Antonio steadies Freo ship
Antonio was a stand-out player for the Dockers today, totalling 19 disposals and 10 tackles to go with the goal she scored early in the fourth term.
In her position as half-forward, she was able to help out the midfielders by entering contests and presenting herself as a strong target for the ball.
This performance is just the latest in a slew of games that have seen her gradually improve since the beginning of the season, and we can hope that we will continue to see this growth as Freo prepare for the finals appearances that seem inevitable now after six wins in a row.
