FINALLY A GOAL

Perth Glory is the last W-League team to net a goal for this season. To give them the benefit of the doubt they did have a bye in the second round where they could have tallied that first goal.

But regardless scoring one goal over two games is not going to be enough to compete this season.

In their first game Perth only had one shot on goal and that improved to five shots on target in today’s match.

Their lone goal in the contest was a crushing goal just a minute into the second half. The momentum in the game seemed to shift towards Perth after that, but getting enough momentum to overcome a three goal deficit is easier said than done.

Even though they are one of three teams to play two games they are tied for the second most goals conceded so far with five.

If Perth is going to give up that amount of goals then their offence has got to step up and at least score two goals in a game.

The unfortunate storyline again for Perth Glory is Sam Kerr is not with the team and that has created a massive hole in their offence. The day Perth can show some life on the offensive end is the day Kerr won’t be mentioned.
