The defending W-League Champions continue their impressive play netting three goals over Perth Glory, who find themselves at the bottom of the league ladder.
SIEMSEN IS THE REAL DEAL
Winning the Young Footballer of the Year in the 2016-17 season netting six goals shows the offensive power of Remy Siemsen. Since then she has had a little bit of an offensive dropoff, but this season is proving to be her best yet.
Over just three games for Sydney FC Siemsen has four goals, tied for the league best. In today’s game it only took Siemsen six minutes to earn her second brace of the year and put her team up 2-0.
Her first goal came from just inside the box where Siemsen sent a lofted ball over the Perth keeper into the goal.

Siemsen’s second goal came from a Perth miscue that she capitalized on knocking the ball off both posts and into the net.
On a team with Caitlin Foord, Chloe Logarzo and Princess Ibini the thought that Siemsen is the top scorer may come as a surprise. Perhaps teams are putting too much emphasis on the other players allowing Siemsen to create more chances.
Now with her scoring record teams will have to take notice and have a more balanced defensive game plan for Sydney.
Whether future goals come from Siemsen or her teammates Sydney won’t care as long as they keep seeing the ball in the back of the net.
FINALLY A GOAL
Perth Glory is the last W-League team to net a goal for this season. To give them the benefit of the doubt they did have a bye in the second round where they could have tallied that first goal.
But regardless scoring one goal over two games is not going to be enough to compete this season.
In their first game Perth only had one shot on goal and that improved to five shots on target in today’s match.
Their lone goal in the contest was a crushing goal just a minute into the second half. The momentum in the game seemed to shift towards Perth after that, but getting enough momentum to overcome a three goal deficit is easier said than done.

Even though they are one of three teams to play two games they are tied for the second most goals conceded so far with five.
If Perth is going to give up that amount of goals then their offence has got to step up and at least score two goals in a game.
The unfortunate storyline again for Perth Glory is Sam Kerr is not with the team and that has created a massive hole in their offence. The day Perth can show some life on the offensive end is the day Kerr won’t be mentioned.
MOST COMPLETE SQUAD
The W-League season is still very young with just three rounds completed. Some teams are struggling, some teams are starting to take shape, but Sydney have been exceptional in their three games.
The only two teams with three wins are from the same city with Western Sydney and Sydney FC. Fans will have to wait until round six to see these two teams square off in the derby.
Their win loss columns are the same, but Sydney FC seem to be just a step above the Wanderers.
Sydney leads the league in goals scored with seven and they have conceded the least amount of goals with just one.
The defending champions do not look to be slowing down anytime soon. They have a complete offence with three different players scoring their seven goals.
The Sydney midfield is controlling possession and making tackles in the middle of the pitch when they do lose the ball.
And their defence has been spectacular making opposing offences almost nonexistent.
Sydney seems like a well oiled machine that will only get better as the season goes on, a scary thought for the rest of the league.
