Fowler Howler

Mary Fowler made it 2-1 just before the first half drink break. The youngster found herself in space on the edge of the box and drilled the ball powerfully into the bottom corner.

The 16-year-old almost scored an equalizer, too. A perfectly weighted back-heel from Laos Dos Santos Araujo slipped through the Brisbane defence with Fowler on the end of it, but her cheeky chip went just over the bar.

The teenager was Adelaide’s best player tonight, and certainly looked one of the most likely to change the game for the Reds.

Adelaide scored their second goal through Mallory Weber, but it wasn't enough to add any points to her side's tally.

Adelaide have only scored scored three goals so far this season, with two of them coming from Fowler. If Adelaide want to get some points on the board, Mary Fowler is their best shot.

I wish I could do anything as beautifully as Mary Fowler can strike a ball. she has the best technique I've ever seen for a player her age. #BRIvADL
