It’s almost tradition to have a Lisa De Vanna goal in our moments of the year and this year she produced an absolute classic.
On 1 June 2013 the powerhouse striker reminded us again (as if we really needed it) why she is one of the most explosive strikers in the world.
Spotting teammate Katy Freels’ lofted ball into the area, De Vanna contorted her 5’2 frame mid air to connect for a bicycle kick goal.
That goal garnered immediate attention on social media and then in the mainstream media across the world.
What a freaking goal by @L_Devanna11 tonight. Can you teach me? Have you ever even tried that in practice? So so impressed. #dope— Abby Wambach (@AbbyWambach) June 2, 2013

It also saw the 29 year old become the third woman and first Australian nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award for Goal of the Year.
