This week Canberra United's Snez Veljanovska departed to join up with USL W-League side the LA Strikers and Sydney FC's Kyah Simon finally made her way to the Boston Breakers.

In her absence, the Breakers hosted Sky Blue FC in the first NWSL v NWSL team pre-season friendly. For Sky Blue FC both Lisa De Vanna and Caitlin Foord were in action for their first match with end result a 3-2 win in their favour.
Both De Vanna and Foord played 45 minutes before being substituted at half time. During that 45 both players were lively and at one point went close to combining for a Sky Blue goal.
An eventful match was matched by an eventful return home with both De Vanna and Foord involved in a small car accident but luckily neither was hurt.

Meanwhile Sam Kerr and her Western New York Flash continued their pre-season tune up with a 4 – 0 win over Ohio State University in another dominant performance. Kerr was again on the scoreboard as she headed home Mexican international Veronica Perez's free kick for the first goal of the match in the 42nd minute.
