There is only one word to describe the second day of the Australian Open and that is 'upsets'.

Victoria Azarenka, who is a dual Australian Open winner, bowed out the world.110 Laura Siegemund.

There were no such upsets for Serna Williams who like Maria Sharapova, took less than an hour to win her match.

It was a day of enthralling tennis at Melbourne Park but the highs from day one were gone for the Aussies on court on Tuesday.

However, off the court, the support for the home-based players was second to none, with green and gold (well more yellow) a constant feature around.
