After getting royally burned last week, I’m more than a little reluctant to put my money where my mouth is in round 2!. Still, this is why I love football so much for the highs and the lows and to be able to say unexpected things like, “top of the table clash between Perth Glory and Adelaide United”
Here we go:
Newcastle Jets v Canberra United
Both teams are coming off a draw from last week with something to prove. Canberra had trouble getting into their rhythm and the Jets let go of a 1 - 3 lead. Canberra have the skills to shut down the Jet’s attacking flair on the flanks and with last season’s golden boot up front and a solid team behind her I think Canberra will take the win.
Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
Even this early on it’s looking like Melbourne are going to struggle this season and the Roar are a tough team to play, even at home. With Tameka Butt hopefully back from injury, her partnership with Katrina Gory in the midfield will be pretty hard to stop. This one will be all Brisbane.
Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers
I don’t know about you but this is the one I’m most excited about! I checked out both teams at training this week and all the players are hungry for the clash. It will be a tough battle with friendships checked at the door. Wanderers to win.
Win a signed Sydney FC away jersey or a signed Wanderers training shirt.
Perth Glory v Adelaide United
And last of all the TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH between Perth and Adelaide! I will never get tired of saying that and neither will Ann. We talked about it extensively in this week’s podcast. Perth to win.
