85th minute. 0-0 against one of the competition's lowest team. Sam Kerr on the wing. Enough said.
With third-placed Chicago needing a win over Alana Kennedy's Orlando Pride to stay within two points of North Carolina Courage and touching distance of the NWSL title, Kerr made the difference when it mattered.
She's been the goal-leader of Chicago's big three attacking assets this season, backed up and assisted time and time again by the Red Stars' other star forwards Casey Short and Yuki Nagasoto.
This time Kerr returned the favour, hanging out wide unmarked before delivering the perfect cross off a rebound, allowing Short to dive in for the winning header.
