Round 7 marks the halfway point for the W-League and teams are starting to separate themselves giving us what could be the most lopsided round of the season.
Game 3
Sydney FC vs Adelaide United
The only thing these two teams have in common is that they both lost last week, besides that they are having two very different seasons so far.
Even after losing the Sydney Derby 5-0, Sydney FC is still one of the top teams in the league and have just two losses on the year, good enough for third place.
Adelaide United is still winless and pointless, but they are not getting blown out of games like you would think a basement team would be. They have just a -4 goal differential and are averaging less than two goals conceded a game.
Disappointing result but @Willacy20 was her usual self in goals! #AUFC #WLeague

Perhaps a game that Sydney may have overlooked now turns into a game they need to prove their big loss to the Wanderers was just a fluke.
Adelaide will come in as their usual scrappy self and make Sydney earn every goal they get but it might just be a game Sydney earns three or four.
Sydney will most likely not be the first team to lose to Adelaide and instead may be the team to score the most goals against Adelaide this year.
Game 4
Brisbane Roar vs Newcastle Jets
Combined these two teams have three wins and five losses. They sit in the bottom half of the league table, but they are not completely out of the hunt for the playoffs just yet.

Fourth place, Canberra United is only three points ahead of Brisbane and five points ahead of Newcastle. Both Brisbane and Newcastle could use some points, but a tie for both is not what either team needs right now.
Not just because Brisbane is ahead of Newcastle in the standings do they have the advantage in this game, but they are also riding a three game unbeaten streak. All three of those games were against teams lower than Brisbane in the rankings which proves even more they will win this against Newcastle.
The Jets are far from their 1-1 opening round tie against first place Melbourne City. They have only one win and it was just a 2-1 victory over Perth.
This could end up being a close game, but even in a close game Brisbane gets the edge over Newcastle.
