Both players were part of the inaugural season at the Royals where the club finished fifth on the ladder. 

Jónsdóttir became the first ever goal scorer for the club during a 1-1 draw with Orlando Pride and it was also her first game in the NWSL. 

The Icelandic announced she would be headed to Australia through her Instagram story.

She has played a large role with Iceland in the past 12 months including playing in all their 2017 UEFA Women's Euro matches.

The 29-year-old was also played a full 90 minutes in Iceland's shock 3-2 win over Germany during a 2019 World Cup qualification match. It was the first time Germany had lost a group stage qualifying match in 19 years.
