After tearing her ACL 12 months ago, Cathrine Tuivaiti will make her debut for the Adelaide Thunderbirds on Sunday against the Collingwood Magpies.
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry a little bit when Dan [Ryan] told me I was in the 10,” she said.
“The game on Sunday scares me, but I’m also excited, really relieved and really happy,” Tuivaiti said.
After 11 months of rehabilitation, she played four games for the Southern Force but throughout the journey, there were moments when she considered giving up.
It was her first serious injury and she was coming to Australia, where she had no family so it was quite overwhelming.
“Not throwing it in has been the hardest part,” Tuivaiti said.
“I was living in Adelaide, and I couldn’t do that one thing that I had come here to do and that was to play netball.
