The Thunderbird will also be looking to step up their performance against the GIANTS who had an impressive win to kickstart their Suncorp Super Netball campaign.

“You are never happy to lose by 18 goals, but we’ve taken all the positives that we can from it and there were plenty, which is exciting for us as a very new team,” coach Dan Ryan said.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back out on court and building on all the parts of our game that worked well and improving on the parts that needed some attention.”

He named an unchanged line-up to take on the GIANTS after the young shooters were impressive in round one.

With Cat Tuivaiti still rehabbing an ACL injury, Thunderbirds had two debutants, Shimona Nelson and Abigail Latu-Meafou in the shooting circle with Charlee Hodges elevated to the squad for the injured Sasha Glasgow.

The rookies scored a total of 56 goals at 86 percent against a tough defensive line-up.

“They will only get better with more exposure and time on court,” Ryan said.
