Matildas and Thorns winger Hayley Raso may be on the other side of the United States to Portland but fans and teammates made sure she was still with them.
The 24-year-old suffered "a non-displaced fracture of the transverse processes of L2, L3 and L4" against Washington Spirit late last month when she collided with Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe while trying to chase down a long ball.
She has been stuck in Washington since, as she recovers and carries out rehab for her injury which has sidelined her for six to eight weeks.
Portland took to the field in their final game of the season at home against Seattle Reign and they ran out 3-1 winners despite Reign hitting the back of the net first.
In the 21st minute of the match, the same number Raso wears on her jersey, the chant "Raso Raso Raso, Oi Oi Oi!" rung out throughout the Rose City Riveters.
As teammates celebrated a come from behind victory, they made sure Raso was there with them through a Facetime call.
She may be on the other coast, but @HayleyRaso is here too. 🌹 #PORvSEA #BAONPDX pic.twitter.com/96PjZtASZj
