Sydney FC has become the only team to make every W-League finals series.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the team in sky blue this season.

Despite now boosting, the third best defensive record in the league, Sydney FC’s season didn’t start out that way.

It is crazy to think 15 rounds ago Sydney started off the season with a 3-1 loss to Brisbane Roar and then continued on with losses to Newcastle (2-0) and Canberra United (3-2).

However, the side found their feet and secured a vital three points after a late winner from Remy Siemsen against Melbourne City in round four, which set them on a nine-game winning streak with a draw against Newcastle Jets their only imperfection.

While Sydney showed a dominant display against Western Sydney Wanderers with a 4-1 win in their last regular game of the season, the finals are a different story and a different ballpark.

Finals football is do or die, but no one knows that better than Sydney FC.

It will also be a milestone match for captain Teresa Polias who will reach the 100 games.

Key Players

Lisa De Vanna (Forward)

The left-winger has played an important role with Sydney this season scoring five goals along with three assists. She has been able to outrun defenders to get the ball in the 18-yard box. De Vanna is also chasing a fourth championship after winning ones with Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City, so it could be hard to stop her.

Caitlin Foord (Forward)

After joining Sydney halfway through the season due to her commitments with Japanese side Vegalta Sendai Ladies, the versatile winger gave some added dimension to Ante Juric’s side. Her diving runs and dynamic movement in the forwards will cause havoc to Jet's defensive structure if they are not ready to control Foord.
