Sam Kerr has bid a teary farewell to her former Sky Blue staff and teammates, in the lead up to her blockbuster WSNL trade to Chicago Red Stars.
Kerr is part of an epic NWSL trade involving two-time World Player of the Year Carli Lloyd, and U.S national team stalwart Christen Press, that will see her depart New Jersey-based Sky Blue FC – where she won the league’s golden boot last season – to join Chicago.
Kerr released a statement on Twitter thanking her teammates, saying her time there was “something I’ll never forget.”
