Kerr is part of an epic NWSL trade involving two-time World Player of the Year Carli Lloyd, and U.S national team stalwart Christen Press, that will see her depart New Jersey-based Sky Blue FC – where she won the league’s golden boot last season – to join Chicago.

Kerr released a statement on Twitter thanking her teammates, saying her time there was “something I’ll never forget.”

Kerr is already the highest scorer in WNSL history. Chicago finished fourth last season, but lost in the first round of the playoffs.
