Despite being a regular starter for the Utah Royals during the 2018 season, Australian midfielder Katrina Gorry will not return to the club next season.
Gorry was placed on the NWSL Re-entry Wire by the club alongside Royal teammates Alex Arlitt and Elise Thorsnes.
Clubs who place players on the Re-entry Wire because their option was not exercised, no new contract was offered or contract expired, following the conclusion of the season with the player becoming available for any club to pick up.
However, by the deadline (1pm ET Tuesday) no players were selected off the list.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Matildas in the league have had contract options exercised by their clubs which does not guarantee a player will be back next season.
This includes Sam Kerr (Chicago Red Stars), Kyah Simon (Houston Dash), Clare Polkinghorne (Houston Dash), Emily van Egmond (Orlando Pride), Alanna Kennedy (Orlando Pride), Caitlin Foord (Portland Thorns), Hayley Raso (Portland Thorns), Ellie Carpenter (Portland Thorns), Lydia Williams (Seattle Reign) and Steph Catley (Seattle Reign).
