City are cutting it fine and need to win their last game of the regular season to have any chance of playing finals this year after winning the last three W-League championships.

The Cityzens were back in business after downing the Jets and have just enjoyed a week off.

Dobson was light-hearted when looking back at their smashing over the Jets, admitting it was a different vibe pre-game.

“When we were walking into that changeroom on the weekend, it was a big game - in terms of it was against my former club, but for this team as a whole, everyone was very quiet and that’s very unusual for us in a changeroom,” The former Jets player told The Women’s Game.

“Everyone was very mellow and even our music was mellow, and I was starting to freak out a little bit because I was like ‘this isn’t normal’ and I think that’s because we knew the enormity of the situation and what we all needed to bring to the table as individuals.

“Stepping out onto that pitch, that warm-up went well and when that whistle went everything just clicked. It was a relief about 10 minutes in and things just went from there.

“I honestly couldn’t tell you who the artists were, it was quite morbid. It was very Sam Smith and I can’t deal with that in a pre-match routine at all.”

She added City were up for the challenge against Sydney after their performance against Newcastle.

“We took a lot of confidence and we knew we can really bring it to the table in those big games and I think everyone is wary of that about us,” she said.

“Particularly in the last couple of seasons, we’ve shown how we can play and admittedly, Newcastle have been unfortunate with some of their injuries this season, so you can’t take that situation away from them.

“We took a lot of confidence out of what we can achieve and we scored a lot of goals which is nice as well.”
