A late goal from Carson Pickett has salvaged a point for Brisbane Roar against Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon.
It was a game which wouldn't feature W-League marquee and reigning Golden Boot Sam Kerr who was serving her suspension from last season.
Meanwhile, Roar were without Matildas goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold who was still waiting on her international transfer clearance which was being held up by Norway FA.
Young Matildas duties hit W-League clubs hard with former Western Pride goalkeeper, Elli Chapple who is only 17-year-old, replacing Arnold but she wasn't the only W-League debutant on the field.
Alongside Chapple was American Chioma Ubogagu and 16-year-old Anna Margraf while Glory also featured a number of debutants.
Without Kerr for the game, Rachel Hill was set to be the main target for Perth and had the chance in the opening 10 minutes to put her side ahead. Hill hit a rocket over the top of Chapple but the ball hit the top of the crossbar but wasn't considered to be over the goal line.
Roar would go on to have a couple of brilliant chances in front of goal with Chioma Ubogagu being their shining light with the number of chances she created for her side.
The American was causing the Glory defence all kinds of trouble with her skills on the ball and her ability to run at players.
However, Glory was set to make Roar pay for not taking their first half chances with Caitlin Doeglas making a run with the ball before putting in a pass for Alyssa Mautz for her third W-League goal.

Roar spent the next half an hour trying to find an equaliser but were unable to find to find their way through Perth who were putting every player behind the ball.
Glory has another chance to go ahead after Chapple came out to clear a ball but Rachel Hill found her way around for the ball only to go out for a goal kick.
Roar coach Mel Andreatta brought on Summer O'Brien which saw Pickett make her way up to the midfield and it was a decision which would prove decisive.
Ubogagu played a ball deep into the box for Pickett, who had to remain came to score what could be the goal of the round.
