The Sydney Roosters have become the first club to sign a player from the Women's Talent ID day.
Brydie Parker, who has played Rugby 7s, was signed to the tricolours after she excelled in theĀ fitness and skills-based programs on the Gold Coast in May.
The Brisbane Broncos were also interested in the 18-year-old and approached her on the day but unfortunately had to turn it down.
"But when it came to reality I am in my first year of university and a lot of it was about location living in Sydney with my family," Parker told NRL.com.
"I knew of some of the girls in the Roosters side too so I felt a bit more comfortable going there," she said.
Roosters coach Adam Hartigan and programs manager Craig Walker rang her a couple of days after talent ID day and sat down to talk.
Parker will be unveiled by the Roosters next week.
