New South Wales have named the side which will defend their 2017 Interstate Challenge title next Friday at North Sydney Oval.
South Sydney Rabbitohs halfback Maddison Studdon has been named to captain, with Ruan Sims ruled out with a broken hand which she suffered at the National Championships.
She joins Jillaroos halfback Caitlin Moran, who has been part of the Blues’ previous two Interstate triumphs but was sidelined with a season-ending knee injury.
Vanessa Foliaki will face partner Karina Brown who is likely to captain Queensland as they try to take out the inaugural Women's State of Origin title.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle Jets goalkeeper and Australian Rugby Sevens representative Hannah Southwell will make her debut for NSW.
