It was a hard fought game between the two Melbourne sides, and one that looked as though it was going to finish in a draw for quite some time - that is, until non-other than Yukari Kinga made it 1-0 for Melbourne City in the 89th minute. Steph Cately slipped a ball in behind for Kinga to provide the pinpoint finish in the top corner.

City had a chance to go in front earlier in the match when Emily Van Egmond took a penalty after a handball in the box, but Casey Dumont got down low and saved the attempt.

Melbourne City had more possession and more momentum for majority of the game, but Victory defended well and were unlucky to concede in the last minute of regular time.
