The announcement comes with just hours left in the AFLW Sign and Trade window with the Crows having confirmed just eight players from their 2019 Premiership winning squad.

McCormick, who is two-time AFLW Premiership winner with the Crows, has been juggling both football and Aussie Rules for the last three seasons.

“As we know, Jenna has been pursuing football and soccer at the elite level for the past three seasons and she has made the decision to focus solely on soccer for the next 18 months,” Crows General Manager of Football Administration Phil Harper said.

“Jenna has our full support and we hope she achieves her goals. If Jenna decides to return to AFLW, we’ll welcome her back with open arms.”

She chose to play for a full W-League season in 2018/19 after originally signing a half-season contract with Brisbane Roar to fulfil her AFLW commitments.

McCormick, who is a central defender, received praise from those across the W-League with fans calling for her to be selected in the Matildas squad.

However, Matildas coach Ante Milicic has yet to do so.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a successful time in the AFLW having played in 20 games across three seasons for the Crows with 2019 seeing McCormick make six appearances including in that 63-18 win over Carlton in the grand final.
