"Very grateful and excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started," Maher wrote on Twitter about the news.

The team, who have six league titles, are coming off a poor 2018 season which saw them finish just four points from the relegation zone.
They have won two out of their four matches in the Deildabikar, the Icelandic League Cup with their next match coming up on April 27 against FH Hafnarf Jördur.
The 20-year-old spent four seasons at Canberra United and won the championship in 2014 before joining Melbourne Victory in 2018.
Maher, who made eight appearances for Victory, scored a memorable 94th equaliser in the teams 4-2 semi-final defeat to Perth Glory.
The 2019 Úrvalsdeild kvenna season begins on Friday, May 3 with KR shaping up against HK/Vikingur.
