“I love playing for Glory and I love being at home and that’s my time I spend time with my family and friends, but there comes a time where, one, I have to change and challenge myself, and two, I have to look after myself financially and experience other things," she told The Daily Telegraph.

Kerr has played in the W-League since the inception of the competition in 2008, playing with both Perth Glory and Sydney FC. 

It has been a jam-packed 12-months for the 24-year-old who took home the W-League Golden Boot award and was named joint Julie Dolan Medal winner alongside Brisbane Roar captain Clare Polkinghorne.

While in the NWSL she became the all-time NWSL goalscorer and won the 2017 Most Valuable Player award.

The Matildas head into an important 12-month period with the World Cup less than a year away with Tournament of Nations in July and a possible friendly with Chile later in the year.

“There’s the option of staying home all together and focusing on the World Cup. There’s the option of playing for Glory. I’m still signed here in the NWSL, so playing here another year. There’s the option to go to many different countries," Kerr said.

“Lots of options but football is such a crazy game. I might not be able to sign for anyone next year. I might have chosen something else. Staying home might be more important. Life can change within a few hours."

“It’s pretty crazy, but hopefully no matter where I go I’ll be happy and playing football.”

In December last year, Kerr was linked to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
