Sam Kerr has capped off a momentous week by taking out the NWSL's goal and player of the week awards, futher cementing her name as the dominant striker of the U.S competition.
Kerr scored her 12th goal in just 12 games earlier in the week in Chicago Red Stars' 2-0 win over Utah Royals, following up on a rebounded header.

The goal gave Chicago the lead after just five minutes, kept them in the race for the WNSL title in third position and sent Kerr four goals clear of her next highest contender for the golden boot.
The Matildas captain also took out the Player of the Month award in May, keeping her in line for a possible Player of the Year nod. She won WNSL Player of the Year in 2017, but missed out to Lindsey Horan in 2018.
If Kerr takes out this season's golden boot award, it will be her third in a row.
