Western Bulldog Daria Bannister is officially off to North Melbourne next season while Brisbane Lion Brittany Gibson is also set to join the inaugural side.
It was announced on Friday last week Bannister would become the 10th player to sign with the Kangaroos.
“We are supportive of Daria’s decision to take up this opportunity and we wish her all the best in the future,” said Bulldogs’ General Manager of Women’s Football, Debbie Lee.
“Daria is originally from Tasmania, which has an alignment with North Melbourne through the AFL talent development program, and in making this decision it will allow her to spend more time with her family in her home state,” she added.
Gibson joined the growing player list North Melbourne have been building.
The 25-year-old, who was drafted from Tasmania, was part of the inaugural Lions squad where she played all eight games, including the grand final and booted two goals.
“It was a tough decision for Britt to go to North but she will be closer to family and friends in Tasmania," Lions Women’s CEO Breanna Brock said.
"We would love to see her stay in Brisbane but wish her the best, especially with her and her partner Jamie expecting their first child together," she added.
She was also part of every game in the 2018 season and booting three goals along the way.
Gibson joins Lions teammates Jamie Stanton and Tahlia Randall at North Melbourne.
