Newcastle Jets could be forced to move their opening W-League home game from No.2 Sportsground.
The club has already moved their opening National Youth League game on November 11 but have yet to make a decision on their W-League match which is only six days later.
The ground, which is also home to Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union, has reported to still have "extensive bare and sandy sections" by the Newcastle Herald.

While the clubs has had to move their NYL match, Jet's CEO Lawrie McKinna was still hopeful of the W-League hosting their fixture against Canberra United on November 17.
“Obviously they had to do a lot of work after the rugby season. We’re looking to move the youth game on the 11th from there but at the moment the W-League game is fine. All they need is days like this. If not, we may have to look for a change but it’s too early to make that call," he told Newcastle Herald.
The W-League side has not trained at No.2 this pre-season and has been using another ground as they prepare for their opening clash of the W-League season against Melbourne Victory.
W-League coach Craig Deans says they have been monitoring the situation.
“We’ve stayed off it to give it a chance and we’ve got three weeks before the first game,” Deans said.
“I spoke with the ground staff last Friday and they were pretty confident they could get it done, but it just depends on the weather.
“It’s just the weather we’ve had this year with the drought and then the rain with no sunshine, it just hasn’t worked well for the grass,” he said.
No.2 Sportsground had been chosen by the Jets for their W-League and Young League matches with dressing rooms painted in club colours.
The W-League side is set to play four of their six home matches at the ground.
