Melbourne City is headed into their third consecutive Grand Final after defeating Brisbane Roar yesterday afternoon.

Fishlock has helped City to back-to-back Championships, the first team to do so, and a Premiership, she says she knows her team are the best in the league.

"I think for us whether you finish fourth or first, we know as a group we are the best team in this league, it doesn't really matter who we play against," she said.

"Obviously our consistency is what has let us down a few times this season but on paper and on the field, the quality we have we are the best team in this league and we truly believe that."

The Welsh midfielder, who is the most capped Welsh player in both men's and women's football, didn't start her W-League journey with City.

She had two stints with Melbourne Victory, one as a guest player in 2012/13, where she helped Victory qualify for finals before losing the Grand Final to Sydney FC.

The following season she became a regular player with Victory and were crowned Champions after beating Roar 2-0.

Fishlock's match next weekend against Sydney FC will be her fourth grand final appearance, meaning she has never missed one.

It won't be an easy final though, Sydney was the joint top goal scorers this regular season with 26 while City didn't hit their straps until last week, but despite this, City has one of the best defensive records this season.

"We probably have the best back fours in the world and we have one of the best keepers in the world, if not the best keeper in the world," Fishlock said.

"We know what Sydney are about and we know their players but we truly believe in our group and our quality, and we believe we are the best team in this league.
