Naughton is fresh from another impressive NWSL campaign with Chicago Red Stars in which she made 24 starts.

She capped that with the club's Best Defender award after playing the most minutes and achieving the best passing accuracy rate (65%).

A former youth international, the 24-year-old is no stranger to the W-League having spent the last two seasons with Adelaide United.

"I'm excited to see what this new season has in store, especially since I'll be with a new team and in a new environment," Naughton said.

"I've heard so many amazing things about the city of Perth and I can't wait to experience it for myself alongside my teammates.

"I feel confident going into this season with what I've heard about this team and the calibre of players that we have and I can't wait to get started."

Head Coach Bobby Despotovski certainly believes the American will be a major asset for Glory this term.

"Katie's been in the league before and is a proven performer," Despotovski said.

"She's a composed, ball-playing defender who will really stabilise the backline and her arrival means that we'll have great competition for those central defensive spots.

"Her form for Chicago has been excellent and we're confident that she'll continue to show that form with us."
