Gielnik has signed with Melbourne Victory after an announcement went live yesterday on both the Victory and Matildas website but was later deleted.

The 26-year departs Brisbane after eight seasons, appearing 83 times and hitting the back of the net on 30 occasions. Gielnik started her days in the Orange as the super-sub before establishing herself as a starting XI player.

"This decision to leave was most certainly not taken lightly. It was a very tough and emotional decision because orange has always been in my blood. I leave on a good note and I wish the staff, the players, and the Club all the best wishes and success for the upcoming season," she said.

Gielnik has become a regular in the Matildas in recent years after fighting her way back into the squad. She spent the off-season in Australia with her junior club Redlands United in the U16 NPL competition.

Meanwhile, Roar were dealt with another blow with foundation player, Tameka Butt also departing. Butt became the second Roar player to hit 100 W-League appearances and did it all in Orange.

"It's not easy to leave Brisbane and it will be very strange to not be wearing orange this summer," she said.

"My move has nothing to do with the club or the football, it is purely for my off-field development, following an internship opportunity with Seven Consulting that I can't pass up," Butt said.

The 27-year-old has spent her off season in Norway with Klepp IL, scoring a handful of goals with the side currently sitting in second.
